Before you write
The questions we are asked most.
When is the best time to fish Patagonia?
The season runs from the second Friday of November to the first Sunday of May. December and January bring long days and dry-fly fishing; February and March hold the biggest browns and the steadiest weather; April is quiet, cold and excellent for streamers and sea-run trout in the far south.
How far ahead should I book?
Twelve months for February and March, six to eight for the shoulder weeks. Late openings do appear when plans change, so it is always worth asking about a date inside the year.
What is included in the price?
Lodging, all meals and wine, guiding, boats, fishing licences, park fees and every transfer once you land in Chile. International flights, personal insurance, gratuities and premium spirits are not included. The full breakdown is in the terms and conditions.
Do I need my own equipment?
No. Current-season rods, reels, lines, waders and boots are available at every lodge, and flies are tied for local water. Most guests bring their own rod and let us supply the rest.
Can non-fishing partners come?
Yes, and many do. Riding, hiking, glacier trips, wine tasting and lodge days are arranged alongside the fishing at a reduced rate.
Is travel insurance required?
Yes. Comprehensive travel and medical insurance covering remote-area evacuation is a condition of booking. We ask for the policy number before departure.
